Sometimes I feel discouraged.
Building Second Life Counselling takes time, and there are moments when I question whether I’m making progress or whether all the effort will be worth it. Then I remember why I’m doing this.
Every day in Australia, 56 people are diagnosed with breast cancer. Behind every number is a person whose life has suddenly changed; a woman trying to process the fear, uncertainty and loss of the life she knew.
I remember how it felt to hear the words “you have cancer”. I remember treatment, recovery and the difficult transition into life afterwards. I also remember how much I needed people who understood that surviving cancer doesn’t mean everything simply returns to normal.
That is why I created Second Life Counselling. I want women navigating cancer, trauma and major life transitions to have a safe place where they can be heard, understood and supported as they begin rebuilding their lives.
So, when the path feels slow or I begin to doubt myself, I return to my why. If my experience, training and compassion can help even one woman feel less alone, then this work matters… and I will keep going.
Every second life begins with a single step. When you’re ready, I’m here to support you as you rebuild with hope, strength and confidence.
Love, Michelle
