I took one week of rest to reconnect. Not because I had to, but because I needed to.
It would have been easy to stay home and keep pushing. To keep working through the to-do list, planning content, answering messages, and convincing myself that being productive was more important than being present.
But I could feel myself slipping back into old patterns.
❤️The constant need to be doing something.
❤️The anxiety quietly creeping in.
❤️The worrying about things I couldn’t control.
❤️The inability to simply switch off and let my mind rest.
So I slowed down. No content planning, posting or pressure. Just quiet mornings, time with my family, long walks in nature, fresh air, and moments to simply breathe.
I listened more. Not just to the people around me, but to myself. I reconnected with the things that make me feel alive. I allowed myself to experience joy without needing to turn it into something productive.
And something beautiful happened. The mental fog began to clear. My creativity returned and I felt lighter.
Because creativity flows best from a full heart, not a tired one. So if you’ve been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin, consider this your reminder:
❤️You do not have to earn rest.
Rest is not a reward for finishing everything on your list. It is not something reserved for when you’re completely burnt out.
Rest is a human need. Our bodies and minds are always communicating with us. When they’re asking for a pause, listen. Take the break, slow down, breathe.
Rest is not something you have to earn. It is something you deserve.
Love, Michelle
