Why do I focus on counselling for cancer survivorship?
Having been through breast cancer myself, I understand that the end of treatment doesn’t always feel like the end of the experience.
There can be relief and gratitude, alongside uncertainty, exhaustion and questions about what comes next. People may expect life to return to normal, while you are still making sense of everything that has happened.
Cancer can change your relationship with your body, your confidence, your relationships and your sense of the future. You might feel ready to move forward one day and overwhelmed the next. There is room for all of those feelings.
This is why cancer survivorship support is close to my heart, and why I offer it through Second Life Counselling.
As a qualified, registered counsellor with lived experience of breast cancer, I bring both professional training and a personal understanding of the challenges life after treatment can hold. Every person’s experience is different, and my role is to listen to yours and support you at your own pace.
You don’t have to put on a brave face or have everything figured out. You deserve space to process what you have been through and explore what life can look like now.
Sessions are available via telehealth, from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
